Party

I have always wanted to throw a circus party. Usually, my poor children celebrate their birthdays a little later than what I would like, so sometimes the parties are thrown together at the last minute with our family meeting at a restaurant to celebrate.

This year is special, and I want to celebrate it on time. Max (Chicken Little) will be 5! His preschool has a birthday party each month for the birthdays that month. Lucky for me I got to plan and decorate the whole party.

My birthday boy... <3

I wanted to hang the pom-poms from the ceiling. However, I couldn't reach the ceiling standing in a chair this room had 12 foot ceilings. ;)
Here is my lovely assistant. He was such a big helper. He helped me move the food table and took care of the wild clowns. Sorry, he doesn't like posing for the camera.

Rainbow Cupcakes sitting on a dollar tree cupcake stand. I got the idea here - http://www.joyshope.com/2010/06/carnival-of-tiered-trays.html Her trays turned out super cute! I'd love to have a couple of them and put my sewing things on it. Mine was wobbly though, and I would not suggest carrying anything on it. It stayed glued for the whole party and came undone right after...whew!

I got some smocking done this weekend! Woo! I need to learn how to do a French knot. I've tried 50 times and only did 1 successfully. Once I learn how to do it, I will have 2 smocking plates ready to go in tshirts. I can't wait to get them fully finished so that I can post some pictures.

Too bad the weekend and fun is over.

A new home.

I'm changing over to Blogger because I think it will be easier for me! In case you think you missed something here is my measily old blog, you can check it out here - http://sewyoumadethat.tumblr.com/.

Here is something I've been working on. These shorts are made using the same tutorial from my old blog.
Eventually, I will get a new tutorial on here. It's not really a tutorial, but I know sewing patterns can be hard to read. I have yet to do many Simplicity or McCalls patterns because they are foreign to me! I try to provide more pictures than what the instructions come with.

I hope this weekend brings LOTS of craft time!
